Suggested Actions

On this page, you will find an alphabetical listing of some of the foremost organizations involved in doing something about the scourge of hunger and poverty in our world. These organizations go beyond just reacting to natural disasters and are seeking ways to end hunger and poverty.  All of them “think outside the box” and have formulated projects that will help you take constructive steps in becoming part of the solution.

You will be able to guide your students to various groups that are dedicated to taking action rather than simply reacting. Students will learn through their participation in actions they choose that they as individuals can make a difference in their community and world.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact KIDS at kids@kidscanmakeadifference.org.

Finding Solutions to Hunger Project
In the iEARN Finding Solutions to Hunger Project, participants globally research and discuss the root causes of hunger, poverty and inequality in the world and take meaningful actions to help create a more just and sustainable world. Since 1988, iEARN has asked all participants to address the question, “How will this project improve the quality of life on the planet?” This question is the glue that holds our network together, and it’s a question that guides us as we develop programs and share resources with like-minded partners around the world.

RESULTS EDUCATIONAL FUND (click)

RESULTS Educational Fund (REF) believes that every human being deserves a chance to realize her/his potential. This means that all people must have access to basic health care and food, an education, and a place in the economic system so they can earn a living. We know that all people can have access to these basic needs in our world of riches and innovation, but many get left behind providing opportunity to all is not a political priority. To change this we must become powerful advocates for the end of poverty. It sounds big, but if we work together and take the right actions, it is possible. REF can show you how.
